Hello out there! This being my first post, before going down the rabbit hole of all the regions tattoos, art, history and lore that I am so excited to share, I figured it would be wise to spend a bit of time introducing myself and explaining just what you can expect from this site and myself. My name is Dustin Burkett and I am a Tattooer of the Ozarks! Just so you know if you have not already figured it out by browsing my site, I say that loud and proud. You may have noticed though, that I said of the Ozarks not from the Ozarks. Hmmm… yes, it seems that I have all of this love for these hills, yet I was not born with it nor was the love intended. No, life with all its great mysteries led me to it, not without its fair share of struggle mind you- but once discovered, became an integral part of me and continues to enrich and bring joy to my life. You see I was born and raised in the North East- many, many miles away from the Ozarks, and did not come to these parts until I was an adult. Growing up, I never gave this area much thought, or if I did, I think I wrote it off. My work and journey in Tattooing is what brought me here, and the meeting of my soul mate and birth of my child is what made me stay. Even after all the wonders and joy and growth those events inspired, it still took years for my passion and interest in the area itself to take hold. It was a combination of travel, time, work, research and family working in tandem with each other – and then one day, all of a sudden and all at once, the subtle undercurrent of humble beauty and deep meaning made themselves clear. And there I was, taken aback and in a way stunned at how lucky I was to be here. I knew from that moment on, I had to, in anyway I could, show thanks and appreciation to the region we know as the Ozarks.
Throughout my journey of the Ozarks thus far, I have discovered much, which I am eager to share. Many of my discoveries have happened either through my line of work, have inspired my work, Much of this I have found by I hope you join me in my journey- or at least check in with me from time to time to
